Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is one of the most popular procedures in cosmetic dentistry. At Cove Dental we use Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed.

Zoom WhiteSpeed uses a proprietary LED light to accelerate whitening for maximum results in minimal time. Zoom is a fast and effective whitening treatment that is clinically proven to whiten teeth up to 8 shades in 45 minutes.

Zoom WhiteSpeed has adjustable intensity settings and can be customised to eliminate sensitivity to maximise your comfort. In fact, over 90% of people surveyed experienced little to no sensitivity with Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed lamp.

If you would like to know if Zoom whitening is suitable for you, please book in for a consultation with our experienced dentist, Dr John Hills.

White Fillings (Inlay or Onlay)

At Cove Dental, we only use ‘white’ dental fillings. Not only more aesthetically acceptable, they are also kinder to your tooth - as they are bonded on to your tooth with minimal tooth grinding.

We also offer dental ceramic as an alternative option. Compared to simple composite fillings, ceramics are lot more durable and aesthetically superior. Commonly called ‘inlay’ or ‘onlay’, these ceramic fillings are carried out for a more heavily broken tooth or in more stress loading areas such as the back molars.

To discuss which filling might be suitable for you, please book in to see our dentist, Dr John Hills.

Porcelain Crowns

A crown is a shell or a cap that goes over your existing tooth. It provides further protection to an already weakened tooth - especially after a root canal treatment. It is a common procedure that not only improves the strength and function of your tooth but also the appearance.

There are various types of crowns but the majority of crowns produced today are made of very hard ceramic. Some patients who had crowns placed a while back may see a darkened line around the margins of their teeth. They function quite well but compared to the ceramic crowns used at our surgery today, aesthetically they are significantly poorer.

If you are concerned with any staining appearing on your crown, please book in for a consultation with our dentist.
