Family Dental Care

We offer dental solutions for the entire family. Whether you require a check up and clean, need an emergency appointment or would like a consultation for cosmetic dentistry and whitening – we are here to put together the right treatment plan for you.

Sensitive Teeth

We see many patients that suffer from everyday sensitivity. In most cases, the main cause is incorrect tooth brushing, which can lead to the receding of the gum and exposed root surfaces.

While some cases can be managed with sensitivity reducing toothpaste, we do recommend that you see your dentist for further assessment as other causes such as a dental cavity or gum disease may manifest as sensitive teeth in the early stages.

Fissure Sealant

Fissure sealants can help to protect your children's teeth from decay in the early years. A coating is applied, which covers the chewing surfaces of the back adult teeth and forms a barrier.

The barrier keeps food and bacteria from getting into the small grooves in the teeth and makes it easier to clean the teeth.

Mouthguards

Dental injuries can be painful, disfiguring and also costly. A custom made mouthguard provides increased protection for those who participate in high contact sports and recreational activities. It effectively reduces the impact of blows to the face that can cause oral injuries.

A custom made mouthguard differs from standard devices purchased over the counter, as it is specifically designed for your mouth. During a consultation, our dentist will ensure your tailor made mouthguard fits comfortably and precisely around your teeth and gums using moulds of your teeth.

Having a correctly fitted mouthguard makes it possible to speak and breathe without difficulty. It also means your mouthguard is secure and won’t fall out while you’re playing sport.

If you would like a custom made mouthguard, please book in to see Dr Hills on  8413 1779.

Preventative

While teeth and gums are naturally evolved to endure long term functioning, often small problems can occur without any symptoms. To prevent these small problems escalating, it is essential to visit the dentist to diagnose these early problems and prevent further complication. The Australian Dental Association recommends regular dental check-ups and cleaning at least twice a year, six months apart.

Here is what to expect on your first visit to Cove Dental.

First you will fill out some forms on our iPad, such as personal details, medical history and oral health. Then you will be escorted into the room by one of our friendly dental assistants. If you have family members or children joining you on your visit, they are welcome to come through as well.

The dentist will then perform a full dental check-up, which involves the following:

  • Full dental examination
  • Communication of any findings
  • Professional recommendation of treatment plans
  • Radiographic examination-X rays
  • Hand detailing and polishing of teeth
  • Full mouth fluoride treatment

Welcome to Cove Dental. Our friendly team are here to help you smile.
